For the first time this winter, Jimmy Takter-trained Maven will race in a mile race in France.

Maven is entered in the prestigious Grand Criterium de Vitesse de Cote d’Azur on Sunday (March 8) at Cagnes sur Mer in Southern France.

The race is the richest mile race in France.

Maven last raced in the Prix de France over the 1-5/16th mile distance at Vincennes. She finished fifth with Jimmy Takter’s elder brother, Johnny, in the bike. She will again have the services of Johnny Takter.

A field of 14 is expected to be entered in the race. The draw for the post positions will take place Thursday at 12 noon, local time.
