Blazing Bobby Sox wins Sunday feature at Dover

Dover, DE — For the third time in the last four Sunday feature races, Blazing Bobby Sox made it to the winner’s circle.

Blazing Bobby Sox was a winner in 1:55.3 in the Sunday feature.

Art Stafford Jr. trains and co-owns The Panderosa-Liamatters gelding, who was the winner of the $10,200 Delaware pace in 1:55.3. The first two were won from off the pace; this time the 4-year-old took the lead early and won convincingly. It was his fourth career win along with three thirds in 10 lifetime starts. Well Did (Vic Kirby) was second in front of Celtic Thunder (Jon MacKinnon).

Following George Dennis, who drove four winners, Jonathan Roberts, presented the DSOA Horizon Award last Friday, added three wins. Also with three winners were trainer Kevin Lare and owner Frank Chick. Montrell Teague won both ends of the daily double. Vic Kirby and trainer Trish Foulk and Foulk Stables also had two wins.

Handsoffmycookie returns to the $18,000 Mares Open Handicap Monday, seeking her fifth win of the meet.

Monday through Thursday racing starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday are dark days. Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m.
