Maven heads field of ten in Paris

The Jimmy Takter-trained Maven will have her second start in Paris this Sunday afternoon (Jan. 11) at Vincennes in the Prix Tenor de Baune, a race for 6-year-old trotters over the 1-11/16 mile distance and with a total purse of $145,000.

As the entry box closed at noon, only ten trotters were entered.

In France head-numbers in races with a standing start are assigned to a trotter depending on lifetime earnings. The richest trotter gets the highest number. Thus Maven will race with head number 10.

The likely favorite is another USA-bred trotter, Solvato, driven by Ôrjan Kihlström, who a fortnight ago won the Prix de Bourgogne. Solvato is the full brother to Shake It Cerry.
