Pinske to lead Harness Horse Youth Foundation for coming year

by Keith Gisser, for the Harness Horse Youth Foundation

Westfield, IN Marlys Pinske of Plato, Minnesota, has been elected President of the Harness Horse Youth Foundation for 2015, replacing Callie Davies-Gooch, who did not stand for re-election after serving for 14 years. Pinske, who previously served as Treasurer of HHYF is involved in harness racing as a breeder and owner and has several family members who have trained and driven, including her son, the late Brian Pinske. She also helps run the family business, Plato Woodwork, which has specialized in custom cabinetry and millwork since 1893.

Pinske is excited about her new role, stating “though I have been a trustee of HHYF for many years, the presidency is a new venture. I am looking forward to the future with enthusiasm. Our board is made up of many vibrant members who will be continuing the mission of HHYF, educating young people and their families about horses and harness racing. On behalf of HHYF I would like to thank our outgoing president, Callie Davies-Gooch, for her many dedicated years of service.”

Peretti Farms’ Nicola Abrams was elected Vice President and Lillie Brown of Preferred Equine Marketing was elected Treasurer. Brittany Farms’ Leah Cheverie was re-elected Secretary of HHYF.
