Brian Sears finishes third in race at Vincennes

by Karsten Bønsdorf, USTA Newsroom Senior Correspondent

For the first time ever, Brian Sears drove a race at Vincennes in Paris, France, Saturday afternoon (Nov. 29) and finished third.

He was up behind a 10-year-old trotter, Quebir de l’aube, who had not won a race since 2010 and was a 37-1 shot in the tote.

Sears took his horse back in the field from the start and going into the stretch he tried to find racing room. That came very late, but Sears found room and finished third with this very difficult trotter, who had not been on the tote board since April.

The race was won by Gerhard Mayr of Austria followed by Tony Le Beller of France.
