Columbus, OH — Don Marean, a longtime USTA board member and chairman of USTA District 9, was re-elected to the Maine House of Representatives for a fourth term this past Tuesday (Nov. 4).
“The people in my House district awarded me with 62 percent of the vote,” said Marean. “I expect I will be appointed to the Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry Committee for my fourth consecutive term. The ACF Committee oversees harness racing so this is a very important place for me to be on behalf of harness racing in Maine. I also expect to be appointed for a second term to the Taxation Committee.
“We are gaining momentum in the Maine House as well; two other Maine horsemen were elected to serve their first terms this past week. Mike Timmons of Cumberland and Dustin White of Easton will be serving in their new roles as State of Maine Legislators.”
