Western Vintage to stand in Ohio

Sugarcreek, OH — Owners Perry Soderberg and Marvin Katz have announced that Western Vintage, by Western Ideal out of the Art Major mare Major Harmony, will be standing the 2015 breeding season at Abby Stables in Sugarcreek, Ohio.

At 2, Western Vintage achieved his mark of 1:49.4 in the Bluegrass Stakes at The Red Mile in Lexington, beating the field of top level colts by several lengths. Western Vintage swept the New Jersey Sire Stakes, winning the first two legs and then the final for 2-year-old colt pacers. He won his Metro elimination, finishing second in the final.

He comes from a long line of champions including Adios winner Vintage Master, Great Vintage and Silk Stockings. The sire of Western Vintage, Western Ideal, has shown again this year that he is very current through his son Artspeak p,2,1:50.2s ($742,185).

His owner, Perry Soderberg, said, “Western Vintage is one of the fastest horses that I have ever picked out as a yearling. I have evaluated over 35,000 yearlings, selected many top horses for Jimmy Takter and others. Western Vintage is one of my all-time favorites.”

Western Vintage blazes into Ohio for the 2015 breeding season and will be standing at Abby Stables in Sugarcreek, Ohio, for an introductory fee of $3,500 for the first mare, $3,000 for the second mare and $2,500 for any mare thereafter.
