Dover Downs 45th season opens Sunday, Nov. 2

Dover, DE — Dover Downs 45th season opens on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014. The annual six-month long meet continues, five days a week, through April 9, 2015 featuring top horses, top stables and top drivers.

Live racing will be contested Sundays through Thursdays during November and December with Friday and Saturday “dark” days. Once more, weekday racing begins at 4:30 p.m. with Sunday post time at 5:30 p.m.

Again, Dover Downs will feature a lucrative stakes schedule. Traditionally, the lucrative Progress Pace, eight Matron Stakes Finals and four Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 2-year-old division events are the highlight events of a stakes-heavy November and December racing program.

There is no charge for admission or parking at Dover Downs. Reservations are suggested for the Winner’s Circle Restaurant by phoning 302-764-4600. Due to strong weekend bookings at the 4-Star Dover Downs Hotel, horsemen desiring to stay overnight are urged to make reservations early.

Along with daily simulcasting of North American harness and thoroughbred racing, and during football season there is three-game NFL parlays are available in the Dover Downs’ Race and Sport’s Book in the Colonnade.
