Bungle Rain, a colt sired by Andover Hall and out of Miss Possessed was sold for a new Swedish record of $175,000 at the Kriterie sale Thursday night at Solvalla.
Bungle Rain, who was bred and raised by Danish breeder, Thomas Lind-Holm, is a full brother to Magic Tonight, who has taken a mark of 1:51.3f at Aby, Gothenburg this year.
The sale was very positive and the average price was up 19% compared to last year.
However, the demand for fillies was very low, and while the colts sold for an average of $29,760, the fillies only brought an average of $15,850. A full sister to world champion Lucky Jim was sold for just $18,000.
Of the top 10 yearlings sold only one was a filly, who was the tenth highest.
The sale continues tonight at 6 pm local time (noon eastern time) and is streamed live from www.asvt.se.
