Augusta, ME — The Maine Harness Horsemen’s Association is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director.

The MHHA is a trade organization that represents owners, breeders, drivers, trainers and grooms involved in the harness racing industry. The MHHA Board seeks an individual to direct and coordinate communication, administration, promotion, and advocacy on behalf of its membership.

The Executive Director will act as a communications hub, attending Board and other industry meetings and legislative sessions; will operate the Association’s business office in Augusta, Maine; and direct public relations and media communications.

A likely candidate will possess strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; and should have broad computer experience (word processing, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail) as well as strong organizational skills. Experience with management and/or advocating for the interests of others is preferred. Knowledge of, and experience in, the horse racing industry is required.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A benefit package could also be part of the Employment Contract.
