Big closing night planned for Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — Scioto Downs is planning on capping off an awesome season of racing with an exhilarating night of racing, Ohio Super Night.

After an impressive summer season with the enriched slot money from Ohio’s long awaited VLTs, Saturday (Sept. 27) will cap off the season with the richest night of racing in Ohio history, with purses totaling in excess of $2 million.

The rich card will offer eight Sires Stakes for the best freshman and sophomore pacing and trotting colts and fillies, chasing a purse of $200,000 each.

Scioto Downs will also feature the Jim Ewart Memorial Invitational Pace for a bounty of $200,000.

Scioto Downs will honor two fellow horsemen with The Chip Noble Memorial Trot, racing for a purse of $75,000, and The Ryder “Storm Boy” Steck Memorial Pace, going for $50,000.

Scioto Downs didn’t forget about the powerful ladies either. The best mares will go stride for stride in a $50,000 Filly and Mare Open Pace.
