‘Ryder’s Fighters’ Facebook page assists Steck family

Columbus, OH — Ryder Steck, the 18-year-old son of longtime Ohio driver and trainer Ron Steck and his wife Kila, was injured in a car accident on Sunday morning (July 27).

Ryder Steck was injured in a car accident on Sunday morning (July 27).

The next day, a Facebook page “Ryder’s Fighters” was created to inform family and friends about the progress of Ryder’s recovery with posts from his mother. To find the page, sign on to Facebook and search “Ryder’s Fighters.”

According to the page, Ryder was involved in a car accident with the most serious injuries being head trauma and fractured vertebrae. He is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio and underwent surgery today.

Since the page’s appearance on Monday (July 28), an event was created to invite others to receive updates from the family. In less than four days, there are more than 2,200 individuals who have joined.

There are also efforts to raise funds to help offset the medical expenses for Ryder’s treatment.

According to the Facebook page, Ryder is 18 and an incoming senior at Highland High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the cross country, track and basketball teams.
