Columbus, OH — Longtime Ohio horseman Bill Brown, 79, who trained and drove Standardbreds for many years in the Midwest and predominately Ohio, died July 27, 2014, in a Huntington, W.Va. hospital.

Mr. Brown resided with his wife Beverly in Ashland, Ky., prior to his death.

He not only enjoyed driving and training horses, he was also an avid fan of the sport. He joined his brother, Robert, later in his career to form the Brown Brothers Racing Stable and together they developed many stakes horses throughout the years and enjoyed much success on the Ohio circuit.

Mr. Brown’s legacy continues with the success of many nieces and nephews having great success in the sport today.

A memorial service will be held at the dining hall at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, at 6 p.m. on Aug. 10.
