Running Aces Pick-6 pool could reach $4,000 Wednesday

from Running Aces

Columbus, MN — The Pick-6 carryover at Running Aces has reached $2,464.25 after going unsolved for the sixth consecutive program on Tuesday (July 8). The 50 cent base bet covers the final six races on each card, meaning races four through nine on Wednesday.

Included in the six-race wager’s line-up are a seven-horse $10,000 Open Trot and a mixture of other conditioned and claiming paces with purses ranging from $3,000 to $6,000. The track expects the Pick-6 pool will be approximately $4,000 by post time for the first leg.

On Tuesday night the 2-year-old Minnesota-sired trotter Al-Mar Reba Babe surprised at 8-1 odds after a succession of three heavy favorites had captured the first three Pick-6 races. Gerry Longo steered the daughter of SOS Lunar Eclipse to a stunning 2:03 victory, including her last half-mile under :59, to top Mad Maddam (John DeLong) and Go See Lo Go (Nick Roland).

All seven state-sired freshman trotters went flat miles and finished within eight lengths of the winner in the $13,000 purse event.

Al-Mar Reba Babe is owned and trained by Richard Davis.
