Allan Davis had eight winners at Harrington Raceway on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old driver has enjoyed a hot start to the 2014 Harrington meet with 18 wins in seven days of racing.
Davis started the card with a win aboard Six Gun Hall ($5.20) in the first race. He won three in a row starting in race three with All Pro Hall ($4), Son Of A Victory ($17.20) and Seboomook Fool Yah ($3.20). He won the eighth with Victory Nut ($51.60), 11th with Ballinrobe ($2.10) and 12th with Motorino ($3.80). His final win came in the 14th aboard Steady Pulse ($4.60).
Trainer Wayne Givens won five races on the program.
One of the few races Davis and/or Givens didn’t win was the $17,000 Open Trot in which Keith Pippi’s Traverse Seelster ($2.40, Ross Wolfenden) set all the fractions and held off a game NF Happenstance to the wire for a narrow win in 1:55.3 over a sloppy racetrack. Spunky Jack finished third.
It was Traverse Seelster’s fourth win of the year for trainer Josh Green. It was one of three wins on the card for Wolfenden.
