James Webber, 79, dies

Columbus, OH — James Edgar Webber, 79, of North East, Md., died Jan. 30, 2014, at Union Hospital, Elkton, Md.

Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on Feb. 12, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Dorothy (MacLean) Webber.

Mr. Webber served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion.

He spent his life around horses, starting as a groom and moving into training. He spent many years working with Standardbreds at the Pinehurst Driving and Training Club and has many friends who reside in the Pinehurst area.

He is survived by his companion and friend, Ruth E. Vincent; brother, Bill (Betty); sister, Susan Singer; daughter, Dana (Jason)Kincaid; son, Erich (Michelle); grandsons, Ethan, Danson Kincaid and Rackley Kincaid; step-grandchildren, Jesse Roland and Serena Roland; step-great-grandchildren, Ava, Alanya and Layla; and a stepdaughter, Vickie Allen. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Audrey Purvis and Ruby Coadle.
