Swedish 3-year-old trots to 1:54.1 score

The 3-year-old Swedish colt Nimbus CD recorded a remarkable performance on Monday night (Dec. 23) at Solvalla, as he won in 1:54.1f, just one fraction slower than the Swedish record.

Nimbus CD, with trainer Per Nordström in the bike, was in command the whole trip and won by a length.

Nimbus CD is from the first crop of Mythical Lindy, a son of SJ’s Caviar who was campaigned in the United States by Jim Arledge, Jr. Mythical Lindy, who is from the same crop as Donato Hanover, took a mark of 1:53.2 and earned $629,104.

In Sweden, Mythical Lindy stands at stud for $2,500. He had 40 foals in his first crop and so far 16 of them have raced.

Kiss Of Life, the dam of Nimbus CD, is by the French sire Tenor de Baune, who won his first 31 races, including the Prix d’Amerique.

Kiss Of Life is also the dam of Kadett CD, a winner of the European Trotting Derby, the Grand Prix de l’UET and the Swedish Breeders Crown.
