Detailer made his second lifetime Batavia start a winning one when he won the Open Trot on Friday night.

Lutetium had won the previous two weeks with wire-to-wire victories in the Open Trot. It was a different story this week. Lutetium was assigned the eight post and couldn’t beat the 6-year-old Detailer, who drew the four post, to the lead.

Detailer ($6.70) posted fractions of :28.4, 1:00 and 1:30 and used a :28.4 final quarter to hold off the pocket-sitting Lutetium (Kevin Cummings) by a length in 1:58.4. Haste (Jim McNeight) got up for the show spot.

Owned and trained by David McNeight, Jr., Detailer (Armbro Tropicana-Just Having Fun) has now won five times this season and has earned $53,850 and $164,316 lifetime.

David McNeight III, Jack Flanigen and Ray Fisher, Jr. each had driving triples on the evening.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway
Victom As (Striking Sahbra) went wire-to-wire in Friday’s Open Trot at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The 6-year-old trotter made an easy lead in the $15,000 feature and after racing unopposed in lap one, stepped on the gas in the final half to sprint away to a 1:57.4 victory for trainer-driver Harry Landy. It was the second win in November for Victom As whose career earnings moved to just shy of the $300,000 mark. Easy Strength (Jim Devaux) finished second to hit the board for the fourth consecutive week in the Friday feature while longshot Speed Hanover (Bruce Aldrich, Jr.) earned the show spot. The victory for Victom As was his seventh of the season.
