Hinckley takes weekly honors in 2013 Grand Circuit Handicapping Challenge

from HANA Harness

As HANA Harness’ 2013 Grand Circuit Handicapping Challenge sponsored by the Hambletonian Society, Chicago Harness, IHHA, Meadowlands, Tioga Downs, and Vernon Downs hits the major stakes at the Delaware County Fair and then moves on to The Red Mile, Sally Hinckley took top honors this past week with a net profit of $138.60. Dennis O’Hara ($75.25) and Garnet Barnsdale ($54.00) are the other handicappers who came out in the black this week. Hinckley can attribute her victory thanks to a couple key wagers including one $158 Exacta payoff. Overall, positions remain unchanged with Richard Scott continuing to lead by $646.79.

As you may recall, the handicappers are competing for standardbred horse rescues. With the top three handicappers sharing in the contest prize pool for their respective rescues, if the contest were to end today, the rescues sharing in the prize fund would be Changing Fates Equine Rescue, Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals, and the Therapeutic Riding and Off-track Rehabilitation program. However, with the contest concluding on December 14, there is plenty of time for other handicappers to claim part of the prize pool f or their charities.
