Penn National Gaming secures option to buy Plainridge

Columbus, OH — The Boston Globe is reporting that Penn National Gaming has secured an option to buy Massachusetts’ only operating harness track, Plainridge Racecourse, enabling Penn National to pursue a slots parlor license in that state.
The move resurrects racino plans at the Plainville racetrack that appeared doomed in August, when the state gambling commission ruled the current owners of the track unfit to hold a slots parlor license.
