Campbellville, ON — A pair of $205,608 Simcoe Stakes divisions highlighted the Monday (Sept. 2) program at Mohawk featuring 3-year-old filly trotters and sophomore pacing fillies. Both Bee A Magician and I Luv The Nitelife didn’t disappoint the betting public in their respective divisions.

Bee A Magician was a 1:52.3 winner in her Simcoe contest.

Bee A Magician, driven by Rick Zeron, is now 11-for-11 this season after she set a new stakes record in the trotting division. The talented daughter of Kadabra took the lion’s share for trainer Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman and owners Melvin Hartman, Herb Liverman and David McDuffee.

With a field of 12 lining up behind the gate, Shared Past (Dave Palone) quickly charged to the front before the opening station in :27. The trotting miss would continue to lead her sophomore rivals past the middle half in :56.1 and 1:23.4. To Dream On (David Miller) was the first-over attacker with Anaffairtoremember (Jack Moiseyev) grabbing her cover.

Bee A Magician and Zeron had their work cut out as they were sitting third over, eight lengths off the leader, with a quarter of a mile of racetrack remaining.

Turning for home, Shared Past was still in command, but Bee A Magician showed her class and wore down the tempo setter in deep stretch to score a 1-3/4 length victory in 1:52.3. Motown Muscle (Mario Baillargeon) finished third.

Bee A Magician now has $948,759 in earnings this season and $1,715,411 lifetime. She paid $3 to win.

I Luv The Nitelife was a 1:50 winner for Tim Tetrick.

I Luv The Nitelife, with Tim Tetrick aboard, captured her Simcoe Stakes assignment in 1:50.

In a field of 12, Aunt Caroline (Scott Zeron) quickly made command before the opening station in :26.2. Heading towards the half, Love Canal (Doug McNair) angled out of third and cleared to the front, but that wouldn’t last long as I Luv The Nitelife marched on by before the half in :54.1.

Tetrick and I Luv The Nitelife cruised past three-quarters in 1:22.2 en route to a one length victory. Aunt Caroline came on for second, over Love Canal.

Trained by Chris Ryder for owners Richard and Joanne Young, I Luv The Nitelife celebrated her 10th win from 11 season’s starts. The daughter of Rocknroll Hanover increased her career bankroll to $1,541,880. She paid $2.20 to win.
