At the Kolgjini Yearling Sale on Friday night (Aug. 30), held at the charismatic trainer’s farm Vomb outside Malmoe, the demand for yearlings sired by Muscle Hill was very strong.

From seven yearlings that sold for more than 1 million Swedish Kroner, or $150,000, five of these were sired by Muscle Hill.

Carmine AM sold for $240,000.

The top price of $240,000 was paid for Carmine AM, a colt out of the useful mare Alltid V G (she by Spotlite Lobell) who took a mark of 1:56.2f and earned $280,000.

The average price at the sale was $62,500.

The most active buyer was trainer Roger Wallman, who bought 12 out of the catalogued 73 yearlings. In the United States Wallman is known as the trainer of world champion Giant Diablo, 1:50.1.

The top international trotter Lisa America, bred by Hall of Famer Lou Guida, was sold at the sale to dissolve a partnership. Lisa America, who had a filly at her side by Swedish Derby winner Joke Face, but was barren, was sold for $240,000.
