Lexington, KY — Offspring of Hambletonian champion Deweycheatumnhowe dominate the program on Saturday night (Aug. 24) at The Red Mile as 14 sons and 11 daughters of the 2008 Trotter of the Year will be on the track for the second and final preliminary round of Kentucky Sires Stakes for 3-year-olds.

The 3-year-old colt trotters kick things off on Saturday with a pair of $15,000 divisions comprising the early Daily Double. While first-round division winner Master Of Law sits the week out, Lauderdale, who captured his division in a career-best 1:54.1, will start from post four in race one as the 7-5 morning line favorite. Lauderdale, a son of Deweycheatumnhowe who finished sixth in this year’s $1 million Hambletonian final earlier this month at the Meadowlands, will be driven by Corey Callahan for trainer Jonas Czernyson.

The role of favorite in race two goes to Dewycolorintheline, who captured this year’s Yonkers Trot for trainer-driver Ray Schnittker. Runner-up last time out to Master Of Law, Dewycolorintheline will leave from post one. Also starting in the second split is 2012 KYSS champion Mystical Dew, who will start from post nine for trainer-driver Jeff Smith.

True Day Dream and Ma Chere Hall, who captured their respective KYSS round-one divisions for 3-year-old filly trotters, will square off on Saturday in the second of two splits. True Day Dream, who has four wins and five seconds in nine starts this year, won her KYSS opener in 1:55, while Ma Chere Hall led at every call in her opener to score in 1:54.4. The pair will line up next to each other on the starting gate, with True Day Dream in post five and Ma Chere Hall in post six.

Rockin With Dewey, who finished second last time out to True Day Dream, has been tabbed the morning line favorite in the opening KYSS contest for sophomore filly trotters. Hall of Famer Mike Lachance will drive from post one.

The 3-year-old colt pacers will vie in a single $30,000 division, with the field including round-one winners Bandolito and Blatantly Best, who will start from posts nine and eight, respectively.

Bandolito’s 1:51.3 victory in KYSS action was the seventh straight for the son of Ponder-Sody’s Home Brew. Co-owner Daryl Bier trains and drives Bandolito. Blatantly Best was a 1:51.4 winner in his KYSS opener, with the son of Cambest-Garish driven by Lewayne Miller for trainer Erv Miller.

Eleven 3-year-old filly pacers will cap off the night in the 13th and final race on the card. So Nice, who romped to a 10 length win in her KYSS opener in a career-best 1:52.1, has been tabbed the favorite with Peter Wrenn driving from post seven. KZ Beach Girl, who won the other KYSS division last time out in a career-best 1:53.4, will start from post nine with driver Chris Page.

The leading point earners in each of the divisions for 2- and 3-year-old trotters and pacers will advance to the $2 million Kentucky Super Night, featuring eight $250,000 Sires Stakes finals, which is scheduled for Sunday night (Sept. 2) at The Red Mile. First-race post time is 7 p.m.
