Saco, ME — The fifth annual Maine Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association scholarship fund golf tournament was held on Monday (Aug. 19) at the Biddeford-Saco Country Club in Saco, Maine.

John Waterhouse, Peter Currier, Marc Lacasse and Steve Lacasse were the winning team in the golf tournament.

Hole sponsors, golfers, contributors and volunteers all helped to raise money for the MSBOA scholarship fund.

Of the 14 teams participating, top honors went to John Waterhouse, Peter Currier, Marc Lacasse and Steve LaCasse. The “Needs Lasix” award went to the team of Ted Libby, Matt Libby, Renee Bowie and Brad Morin.

Each year the Maine Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association awards scholarships to students with ties to the Maine harness racing industry.

In 2013, scholarships totaling $12,500 were presented to five students involved in Maine harness racing who are pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees.
