Anita Tosies, 73, dies

Columbus, OH — Anita P. (Santucci) Tosies, 73, died Aug. 12, 2013, at her home in Kearny, N.J., after a battle with cancer.

She was born and raised in Newark and lived in Kearny for the last 47 years.

Mrs. Tosies was a medical billing clerk for Dr. William S. Albert in Rutherford, N.J., for 16 years. Prior to that, she worked in the same capacity for Dr. Savita Khosla in Hackensack, N.J.

Her family has been involved in the sport of harness racing for many years.

Mrs. Tosies is survived by her sons, Joseph, Richard and Christopher (partner Joseph); sibilings, Ralph (Marian) Santucci, Anthony (Tonia) Santucci and Lucielle Scanlon; and grandchildren Robert, Richard, Angelo and Julian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and her parents, Patsy and Anna (Martino) Santucci.

The funeral will be at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, on Friday (Aug. 16) at 8:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting will be on Thursday (Aug. 15) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
