Brenda Ohol, 49, dies

Columbus, OH — Brenda A. Ohol, 49, of Lockport, N.Y., died Aug. 11, 2013, in Eastern Niagara Hospital after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s) disease.

She was born in Batavia, N.Y., on Oct. 18, 1963, a daughter of Ronald and Patricia (Swift) Lederhouse. She was a graduate of Akron Central High School, class of 1981, and attended St. Teresa’s RC Church in Akron.

She had a love for horses and for many years she and her husband were owners and trainers at Batavia Downs and Buffalo Raceway.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Michael; sister, Lisa Lederhouse; daughter, Courtney; step-children, Justina, Michael Jr. and Melinda; and grandchildren, Brittney, Brianna, Ariel and Charli.

The family will receive family and friends on Thursday (Aug. 15) from 4-7 p.m. in the Childs Funeral Home, LLC, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (Aug. 16) at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa RC Church, 5771 Buell St., Akron. Burial will be in St. Teresa’s Cemetery.
