Eye on Harness Racing debuts

from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — “Eye on Harness Racing,” the USTA’s weekly online video magazine sponsored by TrackMaster, will make its fifth season debut on Thursday — with a new look.

A new co-host, USTA advertising director Heather Dodds, will join John Pawlak and field reporter Ken Weingartner on the season’s first show, which will look back at the recently concluded USTA Driving School and look forward to the upcoming North America Cup with Tony Alagna, trainer of 2012’s Pacer of the Year Captaintreacherous.

Paul Ramlow, USTA Web Newsroom editor, will also be lending his observations about the sport in upcoming episodes.

In addition, Pawlak will present the first “Eye on Harness Racing Focus” interview in the debut episode. These expanded interviews with some of the sport’s top personalities and newsmakers will dot the 2013 schedule, which will run weekly until Nov. 14.

“In a show with such a quick format it’s difficult to delve into topics and learn more about people, so we’ll be doing longer interviews on several shows this year,” Pawlak said.

The first Focus interview will be with Joe Kristufek, the “dean” and chief instructor of the very successful Harness Racing Night School.
