SRF charity golf outing and online auction set for June 4

from the Standardbred Retirement Foundation

Millstone Township, NJ — The Standardbred Retirement Foundation will host their 21st annual charity golf outing on Tuesday (June 4) at the beautiful and private Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, N.J.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor, the notable Valley High Stable, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Reynolds and McCauley’s Bros. Inc. for their continued support year after year. Among the first to lead the way with very generous masters sponsorships are Mr. and Mrs. Marc Goldberg, Muscara Racing Trust and the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen’s Association. Sponsorships are greatly appreciated and range from the $500-$5,000 level.

The million dollar shot, $50,000 hole in one and other extraordinary highlights for the day and evening are planned. Gifts and auction items are being sought, such as tickets to sporting events, travel tickets/packages, dinners, memorabilia and other popular items. Items received are used for our online and event auction, as well as our best bid and our popular raffle table. These in-kind donations are tax deductible and increase our fund raising ability.

For those who cannot attend the golf event, please visit our website (www.adoptahorse.org) to view our online auction, opening in early May. Auction items will include a Pennsbury cart trainer and GPS training stopwatch, a Spyder race bike, Elite harness racing wheels, Harvey Gear harness bags, veterinary services and event tickets, among many other exciting items.

Green fees, cart, lunch, hors d’oeuvre and cocktail hour, dinner, charity auction, trivia and all the fun are just $215 per player if paid before May 30. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m. For those of you that want to join us for the fun but don’t golf, dinner alone is just $59.

All proceeds benefit SRF, the oldest, most productive, award-winning program of its kind dedicated only to non-competitive Standardbreds, securing lifetime care through adoption with mandatory semi-annual veterinarian follow-up.

Unique in its work, SRF is providing the entire care for 170 Standardbreds, many deemed unadoptable due to age or injuries making them unattractive to adopters.

This fund raising event assists in the cost of boarding, feeding, farrier, veterinary and dental care, vaccinations, managerial oversight for these horses, which are being boarded at nine different facilities, and supports follow-up of the past 2,400 adoptions since 1989.

To sponsor, play, join for dinner, make a donation, or for more information, contact Jannine Kraus at 732.446.4422, e-mail admin@srfmail.com or visit our website at www.adoptahorse.org.
