Balmoral and Maywood players gear up for guaranteed pools

Crete, IL — It will be a mid-week treat for fans of the Chicagoland area racing circuit as both Balmoral and Maywood Park will offer some very inviting guaranteed pools thanks to carryovers at both tracks on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The action gets underway on Wednesday (April 24) at Balmoral with a $25,000 guaranteed pool on the 50 cent Pick-5 wager. No one successfully selected all five winners on the Sunday (April 21) card so a total of $9,370 will be added to Wednesday’s pool. Because of the carryover, Balmoral Park and the USTA Strategic Wagering Program will guarantee Wednesday’s Pick-5 pool at $25,000. The Pick-5 is conducted on races 2-6 each night with post time for the second race at Balmoral scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (CDT).

The Wednesday Night Pick-4, which is on races 7-10, will carry its usual guarantee of $20,000.

Maywood Park will jump into the carryover action on Thursday (April 25) with a guaranteed pool of $25,000 on their $1 Pick-4 wager. No one was able to nail all four winners in last Friday’s Pick-4 so a total of $8,309 will be added to Thursday night’s pool. Once again, Maywood Park and the USTA Strategic Wagering Program have joined forces to offer a guaranteed pool of $25,000 because of the carryover. The Pick-4 is on races 9-12 on Thursday night with post time for the ninth tentatively scheduled for 9:50 p.m. (CDT). As always, the $1 Pick-4 wager offers a low takeout of 15 percent.
