Imagine Hanover wins second straight in Meadows series

by Evan Pattak, for the Meadows

Washington, PA — Imagine Hanover moved to the front at his leisure Monday (April 15) and rolled to his second straight victory in the Winning Mister Trot at The Meadows.

The second leg of the series for 3-year-old colts and geldings was contested over three divisions, with The Traveler and Born To Fight taking the other $11,250 splits.

Although Imagine Hanover captured his opening leg division on the lead, Brett Miller allowed him to relax from the gate and get away third. The Broadway Hall-Imposing Hanover colt grabbed the lead past the quarter and coasted home, scoring in 1:59. Early leader Done Andover It was second, 2-1/2 lengths back, with Mr Mysterio third.

In the $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace, Tremor Hanover powered to the lead past the quarter and held off the late rally of Ali Rush to defeat that rival by a half-length in 1:52.4. Do Me Honor came from well back for show.

Brian Zendt drove the 7-year-old daughter of Allamerican Native-Terrie Letsgo, who extended her career bankroll to $411,746, for trainer Aaron Johnston and owners Charles Moses and Shawn Johnston.
