Belle Boyd was a 1:54.2 winner for driver Jody Jamieson.

Trained and co-owned by Carl Jamieson, who will be inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in August, Belle Boyd now remains a perfect four-for-four in 2013 with C$90,475 in career earnings.

She was sent off at odds of 1-5 and paid $2.60 to win.

Driven by Jamieson’s son, Jody, Belle Boyd cleared to the lead past the opening station in :26.4, set by Wildcat Hannah (Sylvain Filion).

Jamieson and Belle Boyd would continue to lead past the half in :57.4, before Marquise De Sarah (Phil Hudon) angled out of third and took over command before the three-quarters in 1:26.1.

Turning for home, Belle Boyd was full of pace as Jamieson showed her open road. She exploded past Marquise De Sarah en route to a comfortable 1-1/4 length victory in 1:54.2. Marquise De Sarah stayed for second over Notalkingback (Rick Zeron).

“She was well in-hand tonight,” Jamieson said following the win. “The (ear) plugs were still in and I haven’t asked her yet as she did it all on her own. She’s got a long year ahead of her and she’s come back this season in great form.”

Joanne Morrison and Thomas Kyron share ownership on the five-time winner who remains eligible to the Princess Series, which begins Monday (April 22) at Woodbine.
