Cassis to stand in Illinois

Cassis 3,1:52.4 ($575,126), by Cantab Hall-Dirty Martini by Lindy Lane, has been sold to an Illinois syndicate and will begin his stud career in 2013 at the University of Illinois Horse Farm in Urbana, standing for a $2,500 fee.

Cassis won the fastest elimination of the 2010 Hambletonian, a division of the Old Oaken Bucket, the Landmark Stakes in a Goshen track record, the Wyoming Valley Late Closer and multiple Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for trainer Ray Schnittker and driver Tim Tetrick.

The Cassis Syndicate, with Fair Meadow Farm of Altamont the primary shareholder, will be managed by Donna Crebs of Cantrall, Ill. He will stand on lease to the U of I Horse Farm, managed by Ivy Hilliker (217.840.0470) with Dr. Kevin Kline the U of I contact.

The U of I Horse Farm is on St. Mary’s Road, across from the famed basketball arena, the Assembly Hall, home of the Fighting Illini.
