Ready Cash is not only a winner at the track, he’s also a winner at stud. His first crop, now 3-year-olds, are dominating the big classic races in France. At present the top three horses in the French 3-year-old crop are all sired by Ready Cash.

On Sunday afternoon the best French 3-year-olds met in the Criterium des Jeunes — a race over the 1-11/16th mile distance and with a purse for the winner of $135,000.

Avila came flying on the outside to win by a length in 2:00.2 (mile rate) followed by Akim du Cap Vert. Avila had trainer Thierry Duvaldestin in the bike. Duvaldestin is also the trainer of Ready Cash.

Duvaldestin bought Avila at the Arqana Sale in Deauville as a yearling for $70,000 and she has now earned around $275,000. Avila is the 12th foal out of a Workaholic mare who has also foaled Kinder Jet and Quaro, who both stand at stud in France.
