Meadowlands continues positive trends

East Rutherford, NJ — It was another successful night in East Rutherford, N.J., as the Meadowlands put forth its first Thursday program of the 2013 racing season. When all wagers were cast, $1,840,139 was wagered on the 10 race program, an increase of 5.6 percent over the same Thursday from 2012.

David Miller piloted Gordyyy’s Pet to a 1:53.1 score and returned $51.20 for a $2 win ticket.

The Meadowlands has seen an additional $795,091 wagered on their first three cards, compared to the previous year, marking an overall increase of 12 percent.

The longshot parade continued Thursday night, with horses returning $75.80, $51.20, $39.60 and $22.20 to win.

David Miller and Brandon Simpson both scored driving doubles on the evening. Miller has been driving lights out to start the meet, while Simpson continues to open eyes by putting forth excellent drives with the world’s best drivers.

Once again, the multi-race exotic wagers at the Meadowlands proved extremely lucrative. The Pick-5 returned $18,570.10 for a 50 cent wager. The Early Pick-4 returned $2,246.60 for the $1 minimum and the Late Pick-4 returned $831.60 for a $1 wager.
