Break The Bank K to Midland Acres of Ohio

from Midland Acres

Bloomingburg, OH — Break The Bank K 2,1:55.3f; 3,1:51.3, a millionaire and winner of the 2010 Breeders Crown 3-year-old colt trot, will stand his first season at stud in 2013 at Midland Acres in Bloomingburg, Ohio, it was announced today. He will stand for a fee of $3,500, or $3,000 for multiple bookings.

Break The Bank K, campaigned in the racing stable of Bob Key and trained by Trond Smedshammer as a 3-year-old, was driven exclusively that season by Brian Sears.

As a 2-year-old in 2009, Break The Bank K, a son of Revenue S from the American Winner mare American Misty, won the year’s first open stake, the Harriman Cup at the Meadowlands, and went on to win five more stakes races that season. He defeated eventual freshman trotting champion Lucky Chucky in the Matron elim at Dover Downs, winning that race with a come-from-behind move in 1:55.3, just one-fifth of a second off the North American season’s record.

He came back as a 3-year-old to again defeat Lucky Chucky in the $500,000 Breeders Crown at Pocono, and also captured his elim of the $1 million Canadian Trotting Classic (second in the final) and the Bluegrass Stakes in Lexington, where he trotted to his career mark of 1:51.3.
