Chapter Seven tops final Poll of 2012

Freehold, NJ — Three-year-old colt pacer Heston Blue Chip made a surge in the final Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown Top 10 Poll, but little changed at the top of the rankings.
Older trotter Chapter Seven closed the poll season ranked No. 1, followed by filly trotter Check Me Out. Chapter Seven and Check Me Out swapped places atop the rankings several times during the summer before Chapter Seven gained the spot for good on Oct. 9.
Market Share, who on Nov. 16 won the Galt Stakes to become the fourth trotter in history to surpass $2 million in purses in a year, moved from fourth to third in the poll. Heston Blue Chip, who captured the Progress Pace on Nov. 18 with a stakes-record effort, moved from No. 10 to seventh in the rankings.
Linda Toscano trains Chapter Seven, Market Share and Heston Blue Chip. Jimmy Takter had two horses in the ratings, American Jewel and To Dream On, as did Casie Coleman, with Betterthancheddar and Michael’s Power.
