Sacramento, CA — Watch and Wager LLC, the new operator of harness racing at Cal Expo, has announced upcoming qualifying dates for this Saturday (Oct. 20) and the following Saturday (Oct. 27). Post time will be 9 a.m. (PDT).

Racing gets underway on Friday (Nov. 2) and goes through May of 2013. There will be Friday and Saturday programs until Dec. 22, then Thursday, Friday and Saturday cards through the remainder of the meeting.

“After speaking with the trainers currently on the grounds, I am expecting at least 120 entries for this Saturday’s qualifiers and another 100-plus on the 27th,” said Director of Racing Fred Kuebler.

“This will give us enough horses to put on a quality two-day a week program with full competitive fields. We are getting very good response from Eastern and Midwestern trainers as well as Canadians to our new horse incentive plan which will enable us to go three very full and competitive days of racing beginning Dec. 27.”
