Yonkers, NY — Brian Sears is truly Mr. Everywhere.

From humble beginnings at Vernon Downs at age 16 winning his first race for his father, Jay Sears, Brian has been a mainstay at a variety of venues.

After winning multiple UDR titles at Vernon in the early 1990s, Sears set up shop at the Meadows, where he competed valiantly against Hall of Famer Dave Palone for nearly a decade. Later garnering driving titles at both Pompano Park and Pocono Downs, Brian finally became a member of the Meadowlands ranks, earning his first Big M driving title in 2004. The next year, Brian set the then highest single season earnings mark ever. Winning the Hambletonian, Hambletonian Oaks and Peter Haughton Memorial in 2009 gave him the all-time single day earnings mark. The next year, he was the top driver at The Red Mile.

The Secaucus, N.J., resident is quite easy to track — he simply stars everywhere he goes.

It was thus fitting that on Sept. 11, Brian won his 8,000th career race at the newest oval where he hangs his colors — Yonkers Raceway. Now a member of the deepest driver colony in North America, the Standardbred Owners Association of New York is proud that Brian has chosen The Hilltop Oval as the place where he nightly plies his trade, and salutes him on attaining the latest of his many personal career milestones here at Yonkers.
