Columbus, OH — Janet Eileen Sowash, 85, died August 23, 2012, in Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center, Marion, Ind.

Mrs. Sowash was born in Elwood on Nov. 19, 1926, to the late Carl and Alta (Shook) Retherford. She was a 1945 graduate of Windfall High School.

On January 3, 1947, she married Harry Burton Sowash, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2001.

Mr. and Mrs. Sowash were farmers and also owned Sowash Racing Stable until their retirement.

She was a member of Windfall Christian Church, Pythian Sisters and the USTA.
