Running Aces Pick-6 pool could approach $20,000 Wednesday

from Running Aces Harness Park

Columbus, MN — Only four of the nine horses going postward in the sixth and final leg of Running Aces’ Pick-6 on Tuesday night (July 24) were uncovered in the wager, but amazingly the post time favorite Blah Blah Blah was one of them. She promptly went out and wired the field in 1:57 to create a carryover in the exotic wager of $11,059.

When racing resumes Wednesday night (July 25), the track is predicting the Pick-6 pool will grow to nearly $20,000 as racing fans across North America take their shot at the enticing bet with a 50 cent base price.

Blah Blah Blah is owned and trained by Cheryl Whitsell and was driven for the first time by the meet’s dash leader Nick Roland. She had a three length margin at the finish over Racetrack Diva (Tim Maier) and Bams Hottie (Ryan Lems). The 6-year-old daughter of Grinfromeartoear paid just $5.20 for a $2 win ticket.

A race earlier, Dandy Di captured the featured $10,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace for the second straight week, coming first-up before the half and reaching the wire first in 1:54.2. Driver Ryan Lems drove his father Robert’s stellar mare with confidence and it paid off with an impressive triumph at 14-1 odds. Nocturnal Rose (Maier) was second and Little Tootsie (Lemoyne Svendsen) third.

Four $8,000 races were contested earlier on the program for Minnesota-sired horses. The 2-year-old trot was won by Al Mar Foxy Lunar (Rick Magee) in 2:04.1; the freshman filly pace by Hot Scotch (Roland) in 2:01.3; the 3-year-old trot by No Recess (Brandon Jenson) in 2:03; and the 2-year-old colt pace by Intrepid Gold (Magee) in 1:59.3.

Post time for the Wednesday program is 7 p.m. (CDT). The $20,000 (est.) Pick-6 encompasses races five through ten.
