Tisbert continues to win at Plainridge

by Jack Ginnetti

Marlborough, MA — Longtime driver-trainer Bob Tisbert still knows where the winner’s circle is. He recently scored back-to-back wins at Plainridge with Alice Szpila’s trotter He’s A Lindy.

Now in his mid-seventies, Tisbert guided Szpila’s trotter to well rated easy wins in his last two starts.

Tisbert, who drives sparingly now, is one of New England’s premier drivers. He can recall many a race at Foxboro in his career which spans over 40 years. His career wins stand at 2,342 and you can be sure he will add to that total.

Another harness great who made the trip to Plainridge with his prized trotter last week was Paul Battis’ Cranmeadow Express. He was caught at the wire by Lazer Zone.

Battis, in his early seventies, is another noted New England horseman. He entered this year with 3,465 career wins and is a member of the writers’ Hall of Fame and the Plainridge Wall of Fame.

File under age is only a number.
