No summer trip to North America for Commander Crowe
May 28, 2012,by Karsten Bonsdorf, USTA web newsroom correspondent
There are new plans for perhaps the world’s best trotter at present, Commander Crowe, after his win in the Elitlopp on Sunday afternoon (May 27) at Solvalla.
Before the Elitlopp, trainer Fabrice Souloy planned to ship the 9-year-old chestnut trotter to North America to race him in the Maple Leaf Trot and the Nat Ray. But now Souloy will keep Commander Crowe in Europe in a quest to win the first final in the new series, Trotting Masters, to be raced September 30 at Solvalla.
After that race, Commander Crowe will be headed for Canada to race in the Breeders Crown at Woodbine in October.
The next race for Commander Crowe will probably be the Kymi Grand Prix in Finland or the Forus Open in Norway.
