Muscle Hill colt tops Swedish Elitlopp sale

Victory Rain, a colt sired by first season sire Muscle Hill, was the most expensive yearling sold at the Sedish Elitlopp sale on Friday night (May 25) in Stockholm.

Trainer Stefan Hultman got the colt for 820,000 SEK or $115,000. It’s the second year in a row that the Danish breeder Thomas Lind-Holm was the breeder of the most expensive yearling at this sale.

Five Muscle Hill yearlings went through the ring, but besides Victory Rain only the other colt, Sloppy Joe, was sold for $16,800. The three fillies by Muscle Hill didn’t meet the reserve price.

Overall the sale was a disappointment as the average price dropped again, his year by 13 percent to $21,495.
