Striking Sahbra, 22, dies

Lexington, KY — Striking Sahbra, one of the sport’s leading trotting sires, died Friday morning (May 25) at Westwind Farm in Strathroy, Ontario, of a ruptured aorta.

Striking Sahbra earned $217,492 in his racing career.

He was 22, and had just been collected when he collapsed and died within minutes.

At the time of his death, Striking Sahbra had sired the winners of $57,332,202.

The announcement was made by Alan J. Leavitt, president of Walnut Hall Ltd., under whose management Striking Sahbra stood at Westwind Farm.
