Elora, ON — As Grand River Raceway heads into a busy weekend of hands-on initiatives designed to engage and educate people about harness racing, the track has released its weekly video recap of race night highlights.

The latest Week in Review MashUp includes action from race nights on May 21 and 23. The highlights include a driving quadruple for Robert Shepherd, win number 35 for veteran campaigner Chinnys Wings, and a whopping 95-1 maiden score for Final Encore.

This weekend’s festivities are partnered initiatives with the Hands On Horses Program. Grand River’s Showtime Staff Training on Friday and Saturday will provide front-line employees with the track, and OLG, with a hands-on appreciation and understanding of the harness racing industry.

The track’s fourth annual backstretch Open House on Sunday runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and guests are invited to drop in any time for a rare glimpse of horse racing behind the scenes. A full tour of the Open House’s six main stations will last approximately one hour. The itinerary includes the unique opportunity to drive a racehorse.
