Last call for April 15 stakes payments

The April 15 deadline is drawing near for many stakes payments. Below are a list of notices that have been submitted to the USTA Newsroom.

Ohio Sires Stakes sustaining payments due April 16

Columbus, OH — Sustaining payments for the 2012 Ohio Sires Stakes are due by April 16th. If you wait until the 16th to mail your payment, please make sure that you see the postal worker put a postmark on your envelope. Most small town post offices are not postmarking their mail before sending it to the big city post offices. No envelope postmarked after April 16th can be accepted and will be returned.

WEG’s April 16 stakes reminder

Toronto, ON — Woodbine Entertainment Group would like to remind all owners, horsemen and women, that Monday (April 16) is the deadline for sustaining payments that are due for the circuit’s major stake events.

Payments being mailed must have envelopes clearly postmarked no later than the said due date or payments will not be accepted. Registered mail is recommended.

April 15 deadline looms for Tioga Late Closers

Nichols, NY — Nominations for Tioga Downs’ 2012 Late Closing program are due this month. Recognizing that the April 15 deadline falls on a Sunday, those with postmarks up to and including April 17 will be accepted. The nomination form is available here.

Tioga’s new race paddock is complete and will be available for use for the first qualifiers of the season scheduled for Friday (April 20). The new paddock is located in the Tioga backstretch next to the ship-in barn and is much more user friendly than the old location.

NJSS sustaining payments due April 15

Trenton, NJ — April 15 is the last chance for New Jersey-sired 2- and 3-year-old pacers and trotters to be kept eligible to all 2012 N.J. Sire Stakes pari-mutuel racing programs.

The NJSS Premier Division is scheduled to begin in May for 3-year-olds at the Meadowlands. The 2-year-old Premier Division will start in July. The Green Acres Division for 2- and 3-year-olds will take place from August through October at Freehold Raceway.

Horse owners are reminded that the April 15 second sustaining payments this year are $500 for both 2- and 3-year-olds. Also due are $150 Green Acres Division payments for 2-and 3-year-olds. The second sustaining payments must be made in order to keep horses eligible for all 2012 NJSS races.

The NJSS also notes that horse owners are encouraged to use certified mail and that no billing notices will be sent and no late payments will be accepted.

Florida-bred Early Closer payment due April 15

Pompano Beach, FL — The 3-year-old Florida-bred Florida Keys #1 Early Closer payment of $100 is due April 15.

Payments will be taken on Monday (April 16).
