Craig Parker, 50, dies

Columbus, OH — Craig M. Parker, 50, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, died April 9, 2012, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.

Born Jan. 20, 1962, in Columbus to the late Donald R. and Berdetta (Romick) Parker, he was a 1980 graduate of Bishop Hartley High School and attended Ohio State University.

Mr. Parker was a sealer for the City of Columbus, Dept. of Public Safety, and a member of St. Mary’s Church, Groveport. He loved to play golf, but his true passion was owning, training and racing Standardbreds.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lisa; daughters, Hannah and Rachel; brothers, Denny (Mary Ellen), Rodney (Joy) and Shawn (Georgia); sisters, Debbie (Darrell) Ault and Dawn Lipka; mother-in-law, Teresa Smith; sisters-in-law, Marty McLain, Peggy Smith and Kim (Jeff) Anderson; and his dog, Sadie. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Doug and Pat; and father-in-law, William Smith.

Friends may visit from 4-7:30 p.m. on Friday (April 13) at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home & Crematory, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where a memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Fr. Mike Watson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
