Switzers are a winning combo

Marlborough, MA — With the New England harness racing season heading down the homestretch, several Maine drivers and trainers are putting up some high percentage stats at Scarborough Downs.

Take for example, the Kevin Switzer father and son team. The latest stats had Kevin Sr. leading in driving dash wins with 133 and second only to Randy Bickmore in the trainer standings at the Downs. Switzer’s stable has produced 58-19-17 in the money finishes in just 136 starts for a .546 percentage.

Kevin Jr., not to be outdone by his father, has posted 267 wins overall and ranks fourth at the Scarborough oval with 85 wins. His .UDR stands at an impressive .393.

Shawn Gray and perennial driving champion Drew Campbell are sporting driver ratings of .436 and .358, respectively. Campbell trails Switzer by some 13 wins in the Scarborough driver standings through Oct. 24.
