Campbellville, ON — Camille and Monkey On My Wheel made the most of their trip to Mohawk on Saturday night (July 16) as they captured a pair of C$30,573 Canadian Breeders Championship eliminations for sophomore pacing fillies.

Camille and driver Jason Brewer brushed to the lead past the midway point and never looked back as the daughter of Camluck-Art Of Design stopped the timer in a new lifetime best of 1:50.1.

Post time favorite Village Janus (Scott Zeron) rushed to the front from the outside post eight to lead her seven rivals past the opening panel in a quick :26.2. Epoxy Queen (Sylvain Filion) was 1-1/2 lengths back in second with Patsys Luck (Mike Saftic) positioned third.

Heading past the half in :55.1, Camille moved from fifth and cleared to the front. Village Janus was put in the pocket with Epoxy Queen third. Epoxy Queen angled to the outside from third with Patsys Luck catching her cover as Camille made her way past three-quarters in 1:23.

Down the stretch, Village Janus then angled to the outside from the pocket, but leveled off in deep stretch. Camille would score a 1-1/2 length victory over a hard-closing Patsys Luck with Village Janus in third.

The Rod Duford-trained Camille now has earnings of C$184,094 for owner Larry Pollard.

In the second elimination, the odds-on favorite Monkey On My Wheel scored her fourth career victory for trainer and co-owner Travis Umphrey.

In the early going, driver Jody Jamieson sent Monkey On My Wheel to the front from post two to lead her six rivals past the opening station in :28. Shipps Xanadu (Randy Waples) was still on the outside in second with Montenegro (Mike Saftic) sitting third.

As the sophomore pacing fillies made their way to the half, Jamieson allowed Shipps Xanadu to take over command, but the lead would not last long as Jamieson sent Monkey On My Wheel back to the front past the half in :57.

The 8-5 second choice, Modern Connection (Mark MacDonald), angled to the outside, but could not reach the leader as Monkey On My Wheel used a :27.2 third quarter to lead past three-quarters in 1:24.2.

Heading for home, Monkey On My Wheel faced no challengers as she was under a comfortable hand-drive to score the victory in a new lifetime best of 1:51.3. Look Cheap (Robert Shepherd) exploded in deep stretch to finish second with Modern Connection completing the triactor.

Co-owned by Mac Nichol, Monkey On My Wheel now has earnings of C$297,386. She paid $4.10 for the win.

Camaes Fellow (Luc Ouellette) protected rail position to lead his seven rivals past the opening station in :27.3. Twin B Legend also left and was dropped into the two hole, ahead of Dreamfair Kovu (Randy Waples) and Drain Daddy (Rick Zeron).

Heading towards the half, Twin B Legend moved to the outside and took over command and led through the midway point in :56 and three-quarters in 1:23.2.

Drain Daddy began the first-over attack with Sonic Dancer (Scott Zeron) tracking him. The 3-5 post time favorite, Mystician, had a lot of ground to make up as he was third-over as the field entered the stretch.

Saftic called on his charge for more pace and the son of Mach Three responded to score the victory in 1:50.3 for trainer/owner Jack Darling. Mystician came from off the pace to finish second with Camaes Fellow third.

Twin B Legend now has earnings of C$156,603. He paid $26.80 for the win.

In the second elimination, Mach Of Ballykeel exploded in deep stretch to score a 1:51.2 victory for driver Sylvain Filion.
