Winsmith Jen held off Carrie Ann and Hally to win the feature in 1:57.1.

Jimmy Taggart, Jr .was again at the controls for trainer Gar Messenger and he once again tried the front-end route with Winsmith Jen but this time they were victorious over Carrie Ann and Mike Forte who edged Hally and Greg Merton for second money.

The Blissfull Hall 5-year-old mare notched her fourth seasonal triumph for owners Dr. Scott Woogen, Phil Shapiro and Brenda Messenger. She paid $4.20 for win.

It was one of two victories on the card for the Taggart-Messenger combination. Earlier on the card Taggart reined the Messenger-trained Winsmith Molly to a 1:58.4 triumph and it marked the second victory that afternoon for owners Woogen, Shapiro and Messenger.

Taggart also added another driving victory to his resume on July 5 when he guided the Bob Beauregard-trained trotter Giant T to a 2:00.4 triumph which was the veteran Giant Hit gelding’s seventh of the season. King of the Castle Stable is the proud owner of Giant T, who returned a $4.20 win mutuel.

Not to be outdone, Bruce Aldrich, Jr. added another grand slam to his win total.
